Celebrities attend UK premiere of Blueys Big Play

Celebrities and their families gathered at the Royal Festival Hall in London for a gala performance of Bluey’s Big Play - a brand-new theatrical adaptation of the BAFTA & Emmy® award-winning children’s television series Bluey, produced by Ludo Studio.

They were joined by: stand-up comedians and Parenting Hell podcast co-hosts Rob Beckett (Rob and Romesh Vs., Sky Max) and Josh Widdicombe (The Last Leg, Channel 4); reality TV stars Elliot Wright and Sadie Wright (The Only Way Is Essex, ITVX); YouTuber Jim Chapman with his wife Sarah Tarleton; TV and radio broadcaster Anna Williamson (Celebs Go Dating, Channel 4); former EastEnders star Brooke Kinsella.

Also among the famous faces were Laura Jackson (Take Me Out: The Gossip, ITV2); mathematician and author Dr Hannah Fry (The Secret Genius of Modern Life, BBC Two); influencer and wife of TV presenter Ore Oduba, Portia Jett; well-known comedian Richard Herring (RHLSTP podcast); Dr Chris van Tulleken (Operation Ouch! – CBBC); journalist, newsreader and presenter Tina Daheley (The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show – BBC Radio 2); and Chantelle Lindsay (Teeny Tiny Creatures - CBeebies).

Bluey’s Big Play runs at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London until 7th January. Afterwards the live tour will visit iconic venues and theatres across the UK and Ireland.

Bluey’s Big Play remixes some fan favourite moments from the TV show, which airs on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland. It’s also available to watch on free-to-air platforms CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in the UK, and RTÉjr and RTÉ Player in Ireland.

Bluey’s Big Play showcases a brand-new story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and scored by Bluey composer Joff Bush. It also features original voices from the TV sensation, including the instantly recognisable voices of Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti as Bandit and Chilli Heeler. While the larger-than-life puppets are commanded by the stage show’s troupe of talented puppeteers.

Bluey’s Big Play is produced by Andrew Kay and Cuffe & Taylor with Windmill Theatre Co for BBC Studios. It is directed by the multiple-award-winning artistic director of Windmill Theatre, Rosemary Myers (Girl Asleep, The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio) and designed by the multiple-award winning Australian Film and Theatre Designer Jonathon Oxlade.
