A-Woof! Duggee and The Squirrels target the album charts with their Greatest Woofs
Hey Duggee: The Greatest Woofs will be released on CD, digital and picture disc vinyl on 22 October.
The album is jam packed full of classic Hey Duggee songs including cult classic Stick Song (which picked up plays on BBC Radio 6 Music), Toothbrushing Song, Raindance and Singing.
Hey Duggee regularly rubs shoulders with pop royalty and boasts support from musical legends as varied as The Cure and Orbital (Hey Duggee paid homage to both in the Mixtape Badge episode) and The Squirrels’ tribute to Hot Chip, A Capella is included on The Greatest Woofs.
Hey Duggee’s contribution to music and culture has not gone unnoticed and on Wednesday 27 October at 5pm, Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess will host a special Tim’s Twitter Listening Party (the 999th edition) dedicated to the music of Hey Duggee and guaranteed to feature Stick Song which Tim describes as a ‘banger’.
Recent single Step by Step also makes The Greatest Woofs and features a fantastic vocal contribution from Mr Nigel Crab, the first time his voice was heard in the series.
The vinyl edition is released as a double sided picture disc with 22 tracks and hides a surprise on the B-side – a 3D zoetrope effect of The Squirrels (best experienced with a smartphone and stroboscope app)! The CD album has 32 tracks from series 1-3 and comes packaged with a sticker sheet, while the digital release features 35 tracks.
