BBC Studios merchandise push for His Dark Materials begins
First wave of global product launches on www.hisdarkmaterials.shop
BBC Studios licensing programme for His Dark Materials gathers momentum with the launch of a dedicated global online store, following the successful debut of Season 2 on BBC and HBO.
Fans across the globe can now peruse a dedicated His Dark Materials e-shop, hosted by licensee Push Entertainment, for bespoke gifting, apparel and accessories inspired by the critically acclaimed BBC and HBO adaptation of Philip Pullman’s epic series of novels.
Ian Shurmer, Co-Founder of Push Entertainment said: “We are delighted to provide a one-stop-shop for the His Dark Materials brand and are proud to be launching it with an enviable range of designs, which are inspired by and pay homage to this fan favourite.”
The launch of www.hisdarkmaterials.shop comes hot on the heels of the debut of His Dark Materials Season 2. Boasting a star-studded cast, including Dafne Keen (Logan), Ruth Wilson (Luther), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Ariyon Bakare (Good Omens) and Simone Kirby (Jimmy’s Hall), the first episode of the new series drew a consolidated audience of 5.6 million viewers in the UK to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Rikesh Desai, Director for Merchandise & Gaming at BBC Studios, said: “We are thrilled to start unveiling dedicated His Dark Materials merchandise to the brand’s loyal fans. The new online shop and subsequent product roll-outs will give them a unique opportunity to own a piece of the show they love and celebrate their favourite characters.”
The first wave of merchandise available on www.hisdarkmaterials.shop will be a stunning selection of His Dark Materials t-shirts. A greater variety of product shall follow and will include caps, mugs, notebooks, bags, hoodies and sweatshirts.
Further licensed product for His Dark Materials is coming down the track too. The next wave will feature apparel by BBC Studio’s global partner Titan, expected to launch soon, and His Dark Materials Season 2 on DVD, which will be released by BBC Studios in the UK on 28th December 2020.
His Dark Materials is based on the trilogy of fantasy novels, published between 1995 and 2000. The novels have been a global success, selling almost 17.5 million copies globally in more than 40 languages.
